New Delhi: In a resolute message to the nation and its adversaries, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the 122nd episode of his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday, May 25, praised the Indian Armed Forces for the “extraordinary precision” displayed during Operation Sindoor — India’s strong retaliatory strike against terror camps following the Pahalgam massacre.

“This is a transforming India — firm in its resolve and fearless in its actions. Today, the whole country is determined to eliminate terrorism,” PM Modi said, as quoted by All India Radio. He described Operation Sindoor not just as a military mission, but as a powerful message to the world about India’s strategic clarity and moral fortitude.

The operation, launched on May 7, targeted nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in response to the brutal April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which left 26 innocent tourists dead. The Prime Minister had earlier condemned the attack, calling it a cowardly act aimed at disrupting peace in Kashmir and vowed that “the conspirators and perpetrators will face the toughest punishment.”

Reflecting on the aftermath of the strikes, Modi highlighted a visible surge in nationalist sentiment and patriotic unity. “Tiranga Yatras have been held across the country, people are paying heartfelt tributes, and there are viral videos from Chandigarh showing children painting scenes of valor and some parents even naming their newborns after ‘Sindoor’,” he said.

The broadcast marks the first time PM Modi has addressed the nation since the counter-strikes, underlining India’s commitment to both peace and security.
