New Delhi: In a significant escalation of diplomatic and trade hostilities, the Indian government has announced a blanket ban on the import and transit of all goods originating from or exported by Pakistan. The move comes in the wake of heightened tensions between the two neighbours following the recent Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.
According to official sources, the Ministry of Commerce issued a notification late Friday, stating that the import or transit of any goods, regardless of category or end-use, that either originate in or are exported from Pakistan shall be prohibited with immediate effect.
