New Delhi: When it comes to defence budget, armed forces and firepower (weapons delivery systems) India has an overwhelming superior technological edge over Pakistan. That explains as to why Pakistan has never won any conventional war since 1947.

Here we give you the complete comparative picture of the numerical strengths of the armed forces and weapons delivery systems.

The data has been sourced from – Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), SIPRI Yearbook 2024, Global Firepower Index 2025 (GFI) & Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

The latest SIPRI report indicates that India’s military expenditure in 2024 was nearly nine times that of Pakistan’s, with India spending $86.1 billion, and Pakistan $10.2 billion. India’s military spending is the fifth largest globally and grew by 1.6%, while Pakistan’s is the 30th largest globally. While these figures provide a glimpse into the relative size of the two nations’ military spending, they don’t directly quantify the total armed forces strengths in terms of personnel or equipment.
