New Delhi: Team India’s head coach, Gautam Gambhir, has been sent a grave death threat via email, allegedly from the group ‘ISIS Kashmir.’ The email, which contained the chilling words, “I kill you,” has prompted Gambhir to file an official police complaint. Authorities have swiftly initiated an investigation to trace the sender, with the cyber cell actively working on it.
This disturbing threat follows Gambhir’s strong statement made just days earlier regarding the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 civilians. Taking to social media, Gambhir condemned the attack, saying, “Praying for the families of the deceased. Those responsible for this will pay. India will strike.” His words seemed to have drawn significant attention, culminating in the threat.
Despite this alarming incident, Gambhir remains a central figure in Indian cricket, having faced significant challenges in his coaching journey. After a rocky start with Team India, including a series of disappointing performances, Gambhir’s leadership shone through in the ICC Champions Trophy, where the Indian team emerged victorious, reaffirming his credentials and capabilities as head coach.
