In a shocking development in the case of the Bengaluru-based CEO accused of murdering her four-year-old son in a Goa hotel, her estranged husband, Venkat Raman, revealed to the police that he had been denied visitation rights for five consecutive Sundays leading up to the tragic incident. Following a family court order in November 2023 granting visitation rights, Raman alleged that he had met his son twice but was prevented from doing so by his wife in the recent weeks.

Suchana Seth, the CEO of ‘The Mindful AI Lab,’ was arrested on January 8 after the discovery of a bloodstained towel in her Goa hotel room. The police found that she had allegedly smothered her son to death before attempting suicide. The accused had packed the child’s body in a bag and was en route to Bengaluru when apprehended by the Goa police.

The couple had been living separately since March 2021, with Suchana Seth and Venkat Raman’s strained relationship reaching a tragic culmination. While Seth did not admit to the crime, Goa DGP Jaspal Singh mentioned that she was not cooperating with the ongoing investigation. The police have 90 days to file the chargesheet, with the preliminary investigation underway, collecting evidence to understand the motive behind the crime. Authorities are also considering the possible use of cough syrups to incapacitate the victim during the incident.
