Solan: The Solan District Police on Friday arrested Ram Kumar Bindal, brother of the Himachal Pradesh BJP chief, following allegations of sexual assault, officials confirmed. A case has been registered against him under Sections 64 and 68 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Women Police Station, Solan.

According to Solan Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh, the case was filed on October 8 after a complaint lodged by a woman detailing the incident.

The complainant stated that she had been dealing with a long-term illness and sought Ayurvedic treatment on October 7 near the old bus stand in Solan. She alleged that she met a man claiming to be a vaidya (traditional healer), later identified as Ram Kumar Bindal.

During the examination, the woman claimed that Bindal asked intrusive questions about sexual health, assured her of a complete cure, and showed her a related book. She alleged that when she refused his inappropriate demands, he molested and sexually assaulted her. The woman managed to escape and immediately reported the incident to the Women Police Station.
