Delhi: Panipat Police have arrested a 32-year-old woman from Haryana in a shocking case involving the deaths of multiple children, including her own son. Investigators allege that the woman targeted young girls within her extended family over a span of two years, driven by deep-seated jealousy and resentment.
The investigation began after a six-year-old girl, Vidhi, was reported missing during a wedding ceremony in Naultha village earlier this week. Hours later, she was discovered dead inside a storeroom, submerged in a water-filled plastic tub. The disturbing circumstances surrounding the child’s death prompted a detailed probe, during which police identified patterns similar to earlier cases previously dismissed as accidents.
Following sustained interrogation, the accused woman reportedly confessed to killing three young girls from her family circle, as well as her three-year-old son. According to police, two of the children—including her own—died in Bhawar village in 2023, while another girl was killed in Sewah village in August 2024.
Investigators say the accused drowned each victim in a concealed location within the home and ensured no one witnessed her actions. The families, unaware of any foul play at the time, had conducted the final rites believing the deaths to be tragic mishaps.
