Srinagar: As part of the ongoing series of events held under the banner Police Flag Day, Handwara Police in fond memory of police martyrs organized a cultural programme at DPL Handwara to provide a platform to the young, budding and enthusiastic artists.
The motto behind holding such programmes by Handwara Police is to move a step further towards the betterment of society for creating general awareness among the people and to provide a platform to the young, budding and enthusiastic artists by showcasing their talent.
Large number of people from different walks of life across the district witnessed the programme. Civil society members praised the efforts of Handwara Police in conducting such programmes which create an impact in the mind of people and carry the moral of the same to the grass root level for the transformation of the society.
The cultural programme event includes the cultural activities viz. Singing (Patriotic Songs), Dancing etc. for the participants with no age bar. The participants from across the district including students of Iqbal Memorial Public School Kulangam, Prime Institute Kulangam and local artists showcased their abilities by presenting dance, songs and various other cultural activities. The spectators were left enthralled and mesmerized after watching the performance.
During the course of the event, one minute of silence was observed to remember the courage and valour of our brave martyrs who have laid their lives for the unity and integrity of the Nation as well as in protecting the life and property of the people.
At the culmination of the event, the participants were awarded with cash prizes and trophies by the Chief guest, ASP Handwara and DySP DAR Handwara. Later Handwara Police presented vote of thanks to the participants for sparing their valuable time and gracing the occasion.
The event was inaugurated by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Handwara Mashkoor Ahmad (JKPS) under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Handwara Sandeep Gupta (IPS). Besides Deputy Superintendent of Police DAR Handwara Ab Raqeeb Malik (JKPS) officers from CRPF, SSB and officers from Handwara Police, prominent citizens and youth of Handwara also witnessed the occasion.
Chairman Municipal Committee Handwara Masroor Ahmad Banday was the chief guest of the event who appreciated the role of police in every field like in crime dealing, law and order and promoting sports activities in the district.
