Gaza: In a significant breakthrough for the Gaza peace process, militant group Hamas released the first batch of seven hostages on Monday, handing them over to Israeli forces in Northern Gaza through the Red Cross. The move comes as the US President Donald Trump-proposed Gaza Peace Plan officially came into effect.

The released hostages include Gali and Ziv Berman, Matan Angrest, Alon Ohel, Omri Miran, Eitan Mor, and Guy Gilboa-Dallal. Authorities confirmed that all hostages will undergo a brief psychological evaluation before being reunited with their families.

The handover triggered joyous celebrations in Israel. Crowds at Hostages Square erupted in cheers as relatives and friends watched the live moments, embracing loved ones, including the families of Nimrod Cohen and Alon Ohel.

The release is a milestone in the ongoing peace efforts, marking the fourth consecutive day of ceasefire between Israeli forces and Hamas, which has helped stabilize the region temporarily and restore hope among civilians affected by the conflict.
