New Delhi: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted the impact of the newly announced GST reforms, calling them a major step forward for India’s economy and a relief for middle-class families. “The GST reforms will also give a boost to India’s economy. Our country’s GDP is around Rs 330 lakh crore, out of which nearly Rs 202 lakh crore comes from consumption. After the GST relief, even if consumption increases by just 10 per cent, it will add around Rs 20 lakh crore to the nation’s GDP,” Vaishnaw said.

The Minister further added, “PM Modi has introduced a major GST reform, giving middle-class families a big relief and a valuable gift. This reform in GST will benefit 140 crore citizens of the country. Before 2014, the common man was trapped in the web of complicated taxes.”
