Governor calls for effective implementation and monitoring of women and child welfare schemes

Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari today called for effective monitoring of implementation of the state and centrally sponsored schemes aimed at improving the nutrition of women and children, reducing malnutrition and ensuring safety of women and children in the State. He asked senior officers to visit field offices for effective monitoring of schemes.

The Governor was addressing the officers of the State Government after witnessing a presentation made by the Department of Women and Child Welfare, Government of Maharahstra at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai.

Secretary of Women and Child Welfare Department Idzes Kundan, Secretary Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Seema Vyas, Chairman of ICDS Project Indra Malo and Commissioner, Women and Child Development Hrushikesh Yashod made an elaborate presentation on various schemes of the government for the empowerment of women and children before the Governor.
