“Ganganagar Setu Will Be Ready in 2–3 Years,” Says Mamata Banerjee After Laying Foundation Stone

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday laid the foundation stone for the much-awaited Ganganagar bridge project in Muriganga, South 24 Parganas, marking a major infrastructure push in the coastal region. The bridge is expected to significantly improve connectivity for residents of Ganganagar and nearby areas.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said the project reflects the state government’s commitment to regional development. She announced that engineering giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has been awarded the tender for construction. According to Banerjee, the modern bridge is estimated to cost around ₹1,700 crore and is likely to be completed within the next two to three years.
