Srinagar: Vilgam battalion of the Indian Army in collaboration with department of Ayush and department of Tuberculosis, Kupwara organised a medical camp at Kukroosa Panchayat Ghar as a unique gesture to alleviate hardships of local populace of Ramhal, Tarathpora and Rajwar Block of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The camp was attended by a Medical Officer, a Gynaecologist, a Paediatrician and Physiotherapist from the department of Ayush and Lab Technician’s from department of Tuberculosis, Kupwara wherein they worked tirelessly to provide medical support to 284 patients including males, females, children and elders.
Besides routine medical check-up, special emphasis was laid on screening people for Tuberculosis, Diabetes and Anaemia in vulnerable age groups for lifestyle diseases. Cupping therapy was also administered by Physiotherapists to locals having musculoskeletal disorders.
Besides medical consultations from the Medical Officers and check-ups, free medicines were also provided to the people. Community leaders expressed their satisfaction and happiness over the initiative taken by the Indian Army and Department of Ayush, Department of Tuberculosis, Kupwara.
