In a recent address to party workers in Akkalkot taluka, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and ex-Union Home Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde, made significant claims regarding an alleged offer from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Shinde revealed that both he and his daughter, Praniti Shinde, were approached by the BJP. However, Shinde emphasized his unwavering loyalty to the Congress party, stating that Congress runs in their blood, and they will never abandon the party.

Addressing party members, Shinde described the Congress as a mother, expressing sentiments of attachment to the place where he spent his childhood and youth. He highlighted the importance of nurturing children in their early stages, drawing parallels with the guidance provided by Pandit Nehru. Shinde acknowledged that victories and defeats are part of politics, emphasizing that even Pandit Nehru faced losses in his political career.

Reflecting on the current political scenario, Shinde expressed confidence that the glorious days of the Congress party would return, citing the support of the people. Sushil Kumar Shinde, a former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, served as the Union Home Minister during the tenure of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Additionally, he was the Governor of Andhra Pradesh from 2004 to 2006. Praniti Shinde, his daughter, is a legislator from the Solapur district.
