Mumbai: Mumbai will host Gen O – India Maha India, a four-day international event focused on creativity, technology and youth innovation, from 19 to 22 March 2026 at the MMRDA Grounds in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC).
The event is being organised by EFlag Corp with support from the Government of Maharashtra, while Maharashtra Tourism is the title sponsor.
According to organisers, the platform is expected to bring together creators, innovators, startups, cultural practitioners and delegates from more than 24 countries. The programme will focus on sectors linked to the Orange Economy, particularly animation, visual effects, gaming, immersive media and digital content creation.
The event is scheduled to be inaugurated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, in the presence of Industries Minister Uday Samant, Tourism Minister Shamburaj Desai, and Member of Parliament Tejasvi Surya, along with industry representatives and international participants.
One of the major highlights of the programme will be an international esports championship, with teams from 24 countries across six global regions participating.
India’s animation, visual effects, gaming and comics (AVGC) sector has been identified as a key growth area in the country’s media and digital economy. According to the Government of India’s AVGC Task Force, the industry could require nearly two million skilled professionals by 2030.
Industry estimates cited in the FICCI–EY Media and Entertainment Report indicate that India’s AVGC ecosystem could grow to over $26 billion by the end of the decade, driven by global demand for digital content, gaming and immersive storytelling.
The four-day programme will include cultural performances, AVGC-XR technology demonstrations, startup engagements and youth-focused sessions exploring career opportunities in creative and digital industries. Artisan exhibitions highlighting Maharashtra’s cultural heritage will also be part of the event.
Organisers estimate that the festival could attract around 10,000 visitors per day, including creators, developers, students, entrepreneurs and international delegates.
