Mumbai: The war of words between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shiv Sena (UBT) escalated after Maharashtra Minister and senior BJP leader Ashish Shelar launched a scathing attack on Uddhav Thackeray for his remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Speaking to the media, Shelar claimed that Uddhav Thackeray’s growing anxiety was visible. “We could see fear on the face of Uddhav Thackeray, and he said ‘Amit, Amit Shah, Amit Shah’. There was so much fear in him of Amit Shah that the level of his statements sank to the lowest,” Shelar said.
The BJP leader further challenged Thackeray to prove his strength through elections instead of “hiding behind rhetoric.” “If they have courage, face elections. Why is Uddhav ji so scared of the BJP and Amit Shah?” Shelar questioned.
Shelar also asserted that while the BJP-led Mahayuti government under Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis was focused on development, Thackeray’s politics revolved around spreading fear and making baseless accusations.
