“It Was a Bomb, Not a Hoax”: Devendra Fadnavis Reveals CCTV Breakthrough in Pune Hospital Scare

Maharashtra CM Confirms Explosive Device Was Real

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday confirmed that the suspicious object recovered from a hospital in Pune’s Hadapsar area was an actual explosive device and described the incident as a deliberate act of sabotage.

Addressing reporters in Mumbai, Fadnavis said investigators have identified the face of a suspect through CCTV footage obtained from the hospital premises and are actively working to locate the individual.

CCTV Footage Becomes Key Lead in Investigation

According to officials, surveillance cameras installed inside and around the hospital captured visuals of the suspected individual linked to the placement of the explosive object.

Security agencies are now analysing movement patterns, entry points and additional footage to trace the suspect’s identity and possible network connections.

The Chief Minister stated that multiple agencies are jointly handling the investigation, with authorities also examining whether the incident has any terror-related links.

Panic Spread After Suspicious Object Found in Hospital

The incident triggered alarm late Wednesday after hospital staff discovered a suspicious item inside the medical facility located in Hadapsar, a busy locality in Pune.

Police and bomb disposal teams were immediately rushed to the spot, following which the area was secured and precautionary measures were initiated.

Initial findings indicated that the object was a low-intensity Improvised Explosive Device (IED) equipped with a timer mechanism.

Security Agencies Intensify Investigation

Investigators are now focusing on how the device entered the hospital premises and whether the suspect had assistance from others.

Forensic experts are examining the recovered material to determine the origin of the explosive components and the sophistication of the assembly.

Authorities are also reviewing security protocols at sensitive public locations including hospitals, transport hubs and crowded facilities following the incident.

Government Assures Strict Action

Fadnavis said law enforcement agencies are treating the case with utmost seriousness and assured that those responsible would be identified and brought to justice.

The incident has raised fresh concerns over urban security preparedness, especially in high-footfall public institutions where surveillance and access control remain critical.
