Exhilarating musical extravaganza Shaam-E-Sufiana held at Drugmullah, Kupwara

Srinagar: The people (Awam) enjoyed an exhilarating musical extravaganza “Shaam-e-Sufiana” held at Zanj-E-Stan, Chailpatti, Drugmullah. Sufism and Sufi Music is deep rooted in Kashmir and the famous saying summarises it all.” The desires of this world are like sea water, the more you drink of them, the more you thirst.”

Celebrating the power of Kashmiri music, the event had the famous Kashmiri singer “Waqar Khan, accompanied with dance by Shagufta group and several other local talents mesmerizing the audience with their exhilarating performances. 

The event also showcased the potential of Drugmullah’s natural beauty to host such wonderful events

“Speaking on the occasion, General Officer in Command (GOC) Vajr Division complimented the artists for their wonderful renditions. The GOC also congratulated the musicians for carrying forward the rich heritage of Kashmiri music. 

The event witnessed extensive audience accolades on every performance by the artists. Local youth turned up in large numbers to be part of the celebrations.

As the famous Sufi saying goes, *”I belong to no religion. My religion is love. Every heart is my temple.” This was made possible by the selection of songs ranging from Sufi theme songs, folk songs, Bollywood numbers, to patriotic numbers. 

At the end of the program all the attendees went back satisfied with reverberating music in their heart and thanked the Indian Army for organising the event.
