Panaji: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Minister Atishi launched a blistering attack on the BJP-led Goa government during her visit to the state, accusing it of rampant corruption, mismanagement, and betrayal of public trust. Speaking to reporters, Atishi claimed that not just opposition leaders but even BJP ministers are now openly admitting to corruption within their own ranks.
“The people of Goa are deeply troubled — broken roads, unchecked garbage piles, and widespread corruption have made daily life miserable,” Atishi said. “But now, it’s not just outsiders or opposition parties saying it. BJP’s own ministers are admitting it.”
Referring to a recent controversy within the Goa BJP, Atishi highlighted a statement allegedly made by a BJP minister claiming that ₹15–20 lakh must be paid to get even small works done. “When a BJP minister says bribes are required just to get files cleared, instead of investigating the claims, the BJP removes him from his post. Is this the BJP’s idea of governance?” she questioned.
Positioning the Aam Aadmi Party as a serious and credible alternative, Atishi said, “AAP is firmly standing with the people of Goa. We are raising their voices, not silencing them like the BJP does with its own members. The people of Goa are tired of broken promises, poor infrastructure, and corrupt governance.”
