Mumbai: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader MLA Adv. Ashish Shelar, at a press conference on Tuesday, demanded that the environment minister Aaditya Thackeray must clarify the role of the state in the Lavasa case where the Bombay High Court has taken serious cognizance of the involvement of the Pawar family in the case.

Addressing the media, MLA Adv. Ashish Shelar said that a few days ago, the Bombay High Court gave its verdict, clarified its findings and recorded its observations into the Lavasa case. We hope the results, findings and observations are being thoroughly read by the state’s environment minister.

The court has pointed out that there has been political arbitrariness, abuse of power, administrative negligence and active participation of the Pawar family in the Lavasa case. Also, national wealth has been plundered. There is a lack of transparency in this work, there is a lot of personal interest involved and negligence in the discharge of duties, as has been pointed by the court,” said Shelar.

Lavasa is the brainchild of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar. MP Supriya Sule has personal interests whereas there is negligence in the discharge of duties and issuance of permits by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Farmer’s land issues are still pending. Is the state government aware of this? Hence we demand that minister Aaditya Thackeray must clarify the state government’s role in this issue, said MLA Adv. Ashish Shelar.
