As Chief Minister Eknath Shinde embarked on a three-day tour to the World Economic Forum in Davos to attract investments for Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis seized the opportunity to secure a significant investment for the state. Surjagad Ispat President Sunil Joshi pledged a whopping Rs 10,000 crore investment in Gadchiroli during a meeting with Fadnavis in Mumbai.

Surjagad Ispat’s ambitious greenfield integrated steel project is set to infuse economic growth in the backward region of Vidarbha. The substantial investment is expected to bring about positive industrial developments and create a considerable number of jobs in the region.

Sunil Joshi, in his commitment to the project, emphasized the incorporation of global standards and advanced technology. He assured strict adherence to all environmental concerns, reflecting a responsible approach to industrial development.

Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis expressed the government’s commitment to the overall development of Gadchiroli, aiming to provide employment opportunities to the local population. Fadnavis stated, “Gadchiroli has the potential to become the steel hub of India,” underlining the significance of the investment for the region’s economic growth.

Having initiated measures to eliminate the naxal tag from Gadchiroli during his tenure as Chief Minister from 2014 to 2019, Fadnavis has consistently advocated for the development of the district, rich in mines and minerals. The state government is poised to extend full support to Surjagad Ispat’s steel project in Gadchiroli, reinforcing its commitment to the region’s progress.
