Patna: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on October 6, 2025, officially announced the schedule for the General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Bihar. With this announcement, the ECI has directed the Chief Secretary and the Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar to enforce the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) immediately across the state.
The MCC will also apply to the Central Government in matters concerning announcements or policy decisions related to Bihar, ensuring a level playing field during the election period, the ECI stated.
