Dr Ramakrishna Sura, Additional Director, Jan Shikshan Sansthan, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship visited Kupwara

Srinagar: Dr Ramakrishna Sura, Additional Director, Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Government of India (GoI) visited frontier district Kupwara. During his visit he interacted with senior officers of the Indian Army, district officials, PRI, village heads, resource persons and pass-out beneficiaries.

On June 23 Dr Ramakrishnan Sura additional director Jan Shikshan Sansthan Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Government of India visited JSS Kupwara.

During the visit a grand certificate distribution was held at vocational training campus Chandiam-Lolab, wherein he interacted with Army officials of 8-sector RR Cherkote and more than 60 PRI members Including president, sarpanches, panchs, village heads and the pass out beneficiaries. On this very occasion certificates were also distributed to pass out beneficiaries to the institute.

Dr Ramakrishna Sura received regards from people for implementation of such livelihood generating schemes. During the interaction with the Indian Army officials, the vote of gratitude was given to Dr Ramakrishna Sura for implementation of such schemes. Army officials further reiterated that it is the only scheme in the whole of Kashmir valley which works at the doorsteps of people, covering the dropouts, illiterates and neo-illiterates.

Officials of the Indian Army also insisted on opening more such institutes so that youth can be kept away from the menace of drugs, anxiety and depression. In response to the speech Dr Ramakrishna Sura said that achieving such a successful feat was not possible without the logistic support of the Indian Army.

In addition, he said that JSS Kupwara made the whole fraternity and family of JSS’s throughout India proud, and lauded the JSS Kupwara for being mentioned in Man ki Baat programme by the Prime Minister as an example setter. Additionally, he said that making/production of 8,000 National Flags by JSS Kupwara, has made all us proud.

He then also visited the main office training campus and interacted with resource persons and beneficiaries of wood-carving trade, traditional Handicrafts, Knitting, Hand Embroidery, Sozni, Toy-making, Electrician and specially-able beneficiaries. During interaction Dr R K Sura emphasized that production of such art products needs to be linked with e-marketing which will cater the demand at local, national and international level. He visited many training centres of JSS Kupwara and had a detailed interaction with the beneficiaries and resource persons.

He interacted with the army officials, army commanders, GOC and got good feedback from their end that JSS Kupwara is doing wonders on the ground and providing training in multiple vocational trades. The feedback which Dr Ramakrishna Sura got from different officials of the state district made him very enthusiastic and positive about the role of JSS Kupwara which it is playing for the upliftment of the people in terms of skill development.

Dr Ramakrishna Sura on this occasion lauded the work of the JSS Kupwara, the staff members and Mohammed Iqbal, Director of JSS Kupwara. He further stated that the JSS Kupwara will work in the same direction of adeptness development in the prevalent masses of district Kupwara. 

In the end, Director JSS Kupwara, informed Dr Ramakrishna Sura that JSS Kupwara will work with strong mandate following proper guidelines in convergence with Indian Army, district administration, higher education, school education and all the other stakeholders of the state, and will sign Memorandum of Understanding’s (MoUs) with 30 organization which will help in successful pre-training mode as well as post training part.
