Zorawar Garrison Gujjarpatti and Government Degree College, Sogam organised seminar on ‘Role of Society in De-Radicalisation and Drug De-Addiction’

Srinagar: Zorawar Garrison, Gujjarpatti under the aegis of Indian Army in collaboration with Government Degree College (GDC), Sogam organised a seminar on “Role of Society in De-radicalisation and Drug De-addiction of Youth” at GDC, Sogam on the occasion of ‘International Day against drug abuse and Illicit trafficking’. With over 200 participants and attendance, it was the biggest seminar the Lolab has ever witnessed.

For many, it was their first time attending such an event and meeting comrades from all over Lolab valley in Kupwara district of North Kashmir.

Nine intellectual subject experts and five students gave the event a truly unique spirit and everyone was eager to discuss the role of the society in shaping the future of the Kashmiri youth with their experience and knowledge in the subject.

The event was attended by many prominent people, including Commanding Officer, 28 Rashtriya Rifles, Dr Navshad Ahmed Wani, Senior Assistant Professor in Psychology, Government Degree College (GDC), Baramulla, Dr Nisar Ahmed Meer, Political Science expert, GDC Hajin, Bandipora, Dr Mohammad Ashraf, Medical Expert, Sub district hospital, Sogam, Nasir Lone, DDC Sogam, Aizaz, SDM Sogam, Abdul Hamid Fani, Chief Education Officer, Kupwara, Adnan Shah, Strategic Expert; apart from the professors and teachers of various colleges and schools in the valley.

Their experience and guidance created a marked positive impact on the young minds who have promised in turn to act as role models and promoters of peace and tranquillity in the region by working volunteers towards De-radicalisation and Drug De-addiction of Youth.

During the Seminar many students including Danish Fayaz, Danish Bashir, Iffat Nazir, Jafar Akbar and Bisma Zahoor presented the research paper on the subject and motivated youth for their contribution for De-radicalisation and Drug De-addiction of the youth of Kashmir and follow the path of rationality and modernization.
