Delhi’s Air Quality Improves to ‘Moderate’ Thanks to Rain and Gusty Winds

Delhi: Delhi’s air quality saw a notable improvement on Saturday morning due to continuous rain and strong winds. The Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 179 at 7 am, falling within the “moderate” category, as per the Central Pollution Control Board.

To clarify, an AQI between 0-50 is considered good, 51-100 satisfactory, 101-200 moderate, 201-300 poor, 301-400 very poor, and 401-500 severe. On Friday, the city’s AQI shifted from the “severe” range to “poor,” and it further improved to “moderate” by Saturday.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded a temperature of 13.8°C at 5:30 am on Saturday, with the minimum expected to drop to 12°C and a maximum of 20.98°C. Relative humidity is at 74%, with gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 74 km/h. The overcast sky, accompanied by rain, is contributing to a more pleasant day. The sun rose at 07:12 am and will set at 05:32 pm.
