Delhi Violence: E-Rickshaw Driver Shot in Nand Nagri, Man Killed in Aman Vihar in Separate Shocking Incidents

New Delhi: The incident occurred in the early hours of June 23 near Gagan Cinema, where 30-year-old Vinay, an e-rickshaw driver, was returning home to Saboli from Amit Vihar. His vehicle reportedly brushed against a black SUV while taking a turn.

Infuriated by the contact, the SUV driver allegedly pulled out a pistol and shot Vinay before fleeing. A PCR call led to his admission at GTB Hospital, and a case was promptly registered under Sections 109(1) (attempt to murder) and 3(5) (joint liability) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Section 27 of the Arms Act.

Police arrested the accused, 46-year-old Sameer Sharma, who confessed to the crime and revealed that a woman had accompanied him during the incident. She too has been arrested. The black SUV and the weapon used in the shooting have been recovered.

A senior police officer said, “We are probing all angles, including personal enmity or previous altercations. The suspect’s criminal background is also being verified.”

Aman Vihar Murder: One Dead, One Critical in Late-Night Knife Attack
In a separate violent episode on Thursday night, two brothers were attacked by unidentified assailants wielding sharp-edged weapons in Delhi’s Aman Vihar locality.

The attack took place at around 8:30 PM. When police reached the scene, one brother had died on the spot while the other was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition.

Forensic teams and crime scene experts collected evidence and have begun analysis. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and the assailants have not been identified.

“A manhunt has been launched. We are analysing CCTV footage and working with local intelligence to establish a motive,” said a senior officer familiar with the probe.
