In a significant development, the Delhi High Court has dismissed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s plea challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a liquor excise case. The court cited the possession of substantial evidence by the ED as the basis for Kejriwal’s arrest. Furthermore, it emphasized the adverse impact of Kejriwal’s non-cooperation with the investigation process, which had caused delays affecting individuals in judicial custody.
Arvind Kejriwal, arrested on March 21, is currently detained in Tihar jail. The dismissal of his plea by the Delhi High Court marks a setback for the Chief Minister in his legal battle against the charges brought forth by the ED.
