New Delhi: Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta has nominated 14 MLAs to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) for the 2025-26 financial year. The appointments, made under Section 3(3)(b)(ii) of the Municipal Corporation Act, 1957, aim to strengthen urban governance and improve civic administration in the national capital.

Gupta emphasized that the nominated legislators will play a crucial role in budget formulation, infrastructure development, sanitation, and municipal governance. The nominated MLAs include Anil Kumar Sharma (RK Puram), Chandan Kumar Choudhary (Sangam Vihar), Jitender Mahajan (Rohtas Nagar), and others.

Meanwhile, Vijender Gupta has raised concerns over bureaucratic negligence, alleging that officers have failed to acknowledge letters, calls, and messages from Assembly Members. In a letter to Chief Secretary Dharmendra, Gupta urged immediate action to ensure better coordination between government officials and elected representatives.
