New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially announced the schedule for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025. The elections will take place in a single phase on February 5, with the results set to be declared on February 8.
As political parties prepare for the high-stakes battle, the contest is expected to be intense, particularly between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). While the AAP, which currently holds power in Delhi, will seek to retain its stronghold, the BJP is expected to mount a serious challenge. The Indian National Congress (INC), though facing a challenging political climate, could still play a crucial role by potentially splitting the vote share of the other two main parties.

Election Process and Voter Confidence
Ahead of the announcement of the poll schedule, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar addressed concerns raised by some political factions regarding the transparency of the electoral process. Dismissing allegations of manipulation, Kumar emphasized that Indian voters are highly aware, and the electoral system ensures transparency.
He reassured the public by stating that there are stringent steps in place to safeguard the integrity of the electoral rolls. He highlighted that nearly 70 steps are involved in maintaining transparency, and any claims or objections raised during the process are shared with all political parties. Importantly, Kumar mentioned that no deletions could be made to the voter rolls without Form 7, which ensures proper scrutiny and accountability.
With the stage set for what is expected to be a fiercely contested election, all eyes will be on Delhi in the coming weeks as political parties ramp up their campaigns, and voters head to the polls on February 5.
