Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, on Sunday felicitated Senior Under Officer (SUO) Tauheed Altaf of the 7 J&K Battalion, National Cadet Corps (NCC), Kupwara, for bringing laurels to the district by leading the All-India NCC Boys’ Marching Contingent during the 77th Republic Day Parade held at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, on January 26, 2026.
The Deputy Commissioner presented the cadet with a Certificate of Appreciation, a memento, and a cash prize in recognition of his outstanding achievement. The felicitation ceremony was held in the presence of the Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Col SS Raja (Retd).
Speaking on the occasion, the DC praised Tauheed Altaf’s dedication, perseverance, and discipline, and highlighted the rigorous training imparted by the NCC in shaping young individuals into responsible and confident citizens. He said such achievements not only bring pride to the district but also inspire other youth to excel in national service and leadership.
The DC encouraged the cadet to act as a role model and motivate other students to join the NCC and actively participate in nation-building activities.
