COVID-19: One more death in Maha, positive cases at 215

A 53-year old man died due to COVID-19 at a private hospital in Pune even as the number of positive cases touched 215 with 12 new testing positive, health officials said here on Monday.

This takes the total COVID-19 toll in Maharashtra to 9, and today’s death is the first recorded in Pune. Further details of his medical and travel background are awaited.

The number of positive cases in increased to 215 with fresh cases in Pune, 3 in Mumbai, 2 in Nagpur, and one each in Kolhapur-Nashik.

Among the deaths, Mumbai has recorded 7, while one death has occurred in Buldhans, and another in Pune.

A 40-year old woman who died in Mumbai and a 45-year old man had no history of foreign travel.

The current breakdown is: Mumbai 88, Pune 42, Sangli 25, Thane 23, Nagpur 16, Ahmednagar 05, Yavatmal 04, Satara and Kolhapur 2 each, one each in Nashik, Ratnagiri, Aurangabad, Sindhudurg, Gondia, Buldhana and Jalgaon, besides one from Gujarat, and a total 9 deaths in the state.

Against these, 38 patients who have fully recovered have been discharged in the state so far, including from Mumbai, Pune, Yavatmal, Nagpur and Aurangabad.

As many as 17,151 persons are in ‘home quarantine’ across the state and 960 are in institutional quarantine.-IANS News
