Mumbai: The special CBI court rejected the interim- bail plea of Indrani Mukerjea the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case. The main alleged conspirator Indrani lodged in Byculla Women’s Prison had filed bail plea and sought temporary relief citing fear of contraction to coronavirus in the jail as they are overcrowded. On Wednesday the special CBI judge J C Jagdale rejected her interim bail.
Indrani in her latest bail had sought for 45-days temporary relief in lieu of no certainty on her trial or bail hearing to begin amid coronavirus. In her plea she also told the court that she has been in judicial custody since her arrest in August 2015. She has been suffering from chronic ischemic changes in her brain arteries. In her application she said that she suffered from blackouts and on medication for long. Thus, considering her medical history and guidelines issued by the high-powered committee, the court should grant interim bail to her.
