Mumbai: The Congress party on Monday firmly denied any involvement in the recent attack on actor Allu Arjun’s residence in Hyderabad, following allegations linking the incident to the party. The attack occurred over the tragic stampede at Sandhya Theatre on December 4, which led to the death of a woman during the premiere of Pushpa 2.
The incident, which saw a group of individuals storming Allu Arjun’s home and causing damage, had raised political tensions when unverified social media posts began circulating, allegedly linking the main accused in the attack to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The Congress, however, swiftly rejected these claims.
Congress spokesperson Sama Ram Mohan Reddy addressed the matter, telling NDTV, “None of them belong to Congress. If they find any Congress link, those workers will stand disqualified.” His statement was aimed at distancing the party from the actions of those involved in the attack.
Following the incident, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also condemned the vandalism, using the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to voice his disapproval. He stated, “I condemn the attack on the homes of film celebrities. I am directing the State DGP and City Police Commissioner to take strict action regarding law and order. No laxity will be tolerated in this regard. Senior officials should take precautions to prevent police personnel who are not involved in the Sandhya Theater incident from responding.”
The attack on Allu Arjun’s home, reportedly in protest over the tragic stampede incident, continues to draw political and public scrutiny. Authorities have been urged to investigate the incident thoroughly to ensure accountability and prevent any further escalation of the situation.
