Mumbai: Congress leader Vijay Namdevrao Wadettiwar reacted strongly to the attempted attack on Chief Justice of India (CJI) B.R. Gavai, raising concerns over the functioning of the judiciary at the highest levels.

Wadettiwar stated, “It is clear from the way the whole country is being run and the ideology being promoted that those sitting in the judiciary, even at the highest levels, do not serve the constitution properly. They have no concern for the country’s development. Instead, by distorting religion and misleading people, they aim to retain power and authority.”

He further emphasised the need for a clear distinction between politics and religion, saying, “Religion and politics should be separate; discussions about religion and politics should be distinct.”
