Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday criticized Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, asserting that the Congress has lost the public’s trust and no longer focuses on pressing issues.

Addressing the media, CM Sai said, “The Congress Party has lost the public’s trust and today they have become limited and have no issues. They have become issueless. Whenever something happens in their favour, no one raises any questions, but when something happens against their favour, they raise questions… This is their culture.”

The remarks came shortly after Rahul Gandhi held a press conference highlighting alleged electoral irregularities, including what he described as large-scale “vote chori” in multiple states. CM Sai’s criticism reflects the ruling BJP’s stance that Congress has increasingly resorted to political theatrics rather than addressing core governance and public concerns.

Shifting focus to development initiatives in the state, CM Sai emphasized a major transportation milestone. “Today is a very auspicious occasion for Chhattisgarh, with the inauguration of the Rajim-Raipur MEMU train. This will greatly facilitate the transportation of thousands of people,” he said. The new train service is expected to enhance regional connectivity, ease daily commutes, and boost economic and social integration between Rajim and Raipur.
