Handwara: A delegation from the Civil Society Forum, Sub-District Handwara, met Hon’ble Rajya Sabha Member Haji Mohammad Ramzan Chowdary to extend congratulations on his election to the Upper House of Parliament, representing the Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency. The members conveyed their best wishes for his tenure and expressed confidence in his continued commitment to the development and welfare of North Kashmir.
During the meeting, the delegation submitted a detailed memorandum, stressing the urgent need for the early resumption of construction work at the Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara, located at Gund Chogal. They briefed the Rajya Sabha Member about the hardships faced due to the prolonged delay and underscored the significance of the project for improving healthcare and educational infrastructure in the region.
The members urged Haji Mohammad Ramzan Chowdary to take up the issue with the Hon’ble Prime Minister and the Hon’ble Chief Minister to ensure immediate intervention and directives for restarting the stalled construction.
The meeting was led by Mr. Bilal Ahmad Zargar, a prominent social activist, accompanied by Mr. Mudasir Ahmad Tantray, President of the Peoples National Party, along with other representatives of the Civil Society Forum.
In response, Haji Mohammad Ramzan Chowdary appreciated the delegation’s sincere efforts and assured them that he would personally pursue the matter to facilitate the early restoration and continuation of construction work at GMC Handwara’s approved site in Gund Chogal.
The Civil Society Forum expressed gratitude for his assurance and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting all developmental initiatives aimed at strengthening public health and higher education infrastructure across the region.
