Prasad, who claims to have been performing his official duties at the time, was allegedly dragged out of his office and assaulted by the magistrate and his staff.

“I was working in my office when City Magistrate sahab came with 10 people. They dragged me, abused me, and beat me before taking me to his office. My colleagues saved me,” Prasad explained in an interview with TV9, adding that the incident was captured on CCTV footage.
In response to the assault, PWD employees closed the office and staged a protest, demanding an apology from the city magistrate. The employees stated that the office would remain shut until Kumar acknowledges his actions and offers a public apology.
However, City Magistrate Rakesh Kumar dismissed the assault allegations, stating that he had gone to the PWD office to address a complaint filed by the home guard. “The situation being described is incorrect. A PWD employee misbehaved with the home guard and beat him up. I went to the PWD office to check whether the individual who misbehaved was a government employee or a private employee. There was no assault involved,” Kumar clarified.
