“Rahul Gandhi Lives in Delusion”: Chirag Paswan Says NDA Will Keep Winning if Opposition Fails to Learn

Chirag Paswan Launches Fresh Attack on Rahul Gandhi

Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan mounted a strong criticism of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a public event in Bihar’s Jamui, questioning his recent remarks about the 2024 and 2029 Lok Sabha elections.

While highlighting the Narendra Modi government’s development initiatives and governance record, Paswan said Rahul Gandhi’s political assessment was disconnected from reality and reflected a mindset that prevents self-correction.

“Rahul Gandhi Lives in Delusion,” Says Paswan

Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s statement that the opposition had not lost the 2024 Lok Sabha election and had already secured victory in 2029, Paswan mocked the Congress leader’s confidence.

“Rahul Gandhi lives in delusion. He keeps believing in his own mind. What’s the harm in believing in your own mind? Suppose you become the President of the US, suppose you become the Secretary General of the United States. Believe whatever you want, believe it. Who is stopping you from believing?” Paswan said.

The Union Minister argued that political leaders who fail to assess reality accurately often struggle to identify and rectify mistakes.

“Rahul Gandhi lives in delusion. A person living in delusion does not work hard, which is why mistakes remain uncorrected,” he added.

NDA’s Success Linked to Opposition’s Weaknesses

Paswan claimed that repeated setbacks faced by opposition parties were the result of their unwillingness to acknowledge shortcomings and reform their approach.

“If you do not improve your shortcomings, do not learn from them and move forward, we will continue to win,” he said.

According to Paswan, the NDA’s continued electoral success stems not only from public support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi but also from the opposition’s inability to present a united and consistent political alternative.

INDIA Alliance Comes Under Fire

The LJP (Ram Vilas) chief also took aim at the INDIA bloc, alleging that internal disagreements continue to weaken the opposition alliance.

“While the Prime Minister is popular and the public trusts our policies, the opposition is divided. When they lose elections, they sit in a room with the INDIA Alliance, and then elections will come again, and then they will split,” Paswan remarked.

Taking a swipe at the alliance’s changing political equations, he added, “Today they are embracing Mamata Banerjee, while just a week ago they were cursing her in Bengal.”

Predicts Long Political Struggle for Opposition

Paswan expressed confidence that the opposition would struggle to regain political ground if it continued with the same approach.

“In such a situation, this alliance of ambitious parties will still not learn from its mistakes. I don’t think the opposition will be able to make a comeback for 30-40 years,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi’s 2029 Election Remark

The remarks came in response to Rahul Gandhi’s recent assertion that the opposition had already laid the groundwork for future electoral success.

“When India’s thinking, the soul of the country, is in crisis… when there is a takeover of institutions… when the voice of the people is suppressed… then only resistance with unity works,” Rahul Gandhi had said.

“I am saying it again – we did not lose the 2024 election, and we have already won the 2029 election,” he added.
