Mumbai: Chembur Gymkhana emerged champions in the Men’s Elite Division of the Motiram Cup Badminton Tournament jointly organised by the Greater Mumbai Badminton Association (GMBA) and Willingdon Sports Club, with sponsorship support from Badminton Gurukul.
In the final, Chembur Gymkhana defeated Bombay Gymkhana 2-0 to lift the prestigious title.
Juhu Gymkhana won the Plate Division title after defeating BKLP ‘B’ 2-1 in a closely fought contest.
Chembur Gymkhana narrowly missed out on completing a double triumph after their junior side suffered a 1-3 defeat against CCI in the final of the Kanji Cup.
Despite remaining unbeaten until the semi-finals, Chembur Gymkhana could not reproduce the same dominance in the title clash.
In the Women’s Ullal Cup final, Khar Gymkhana secured a thrilling 2-1 victory over CCI ‘A’ to emerge champions.
