Certification ceremony held of Retail Associate Trainees of IIFL in collaboration with REACHA & Army Retail Training Centre, Kupwara

Srinagar: The first batch of 30 trainees of IIFL Retail Associate Training Centre, (IIFL-RATC), Kupwara were recently awarded with certificates after learning successful traits of a good retail associate from the centre thus making them certified and employable. 

The IIFL Retail Training Centre in Kupwara Town was conceived jointly by India Infoline Finance Limited (IIFL) as the financier and NGO REACHA as the implementing partner with the Indian Army. The centre was inaugurated on July 27 at the Sheikh-ul-Aalam Complex near Bus Stand, Kupwara.

The aim of the centre is to provide training and employment to 180 unemployed youth of Kupwara district. The centre is equipped with a hi-tech computer lab and National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) aligned curriculum. 

The centre not only trained them by introducing them to the essential qualities of a retail trainee, but also conducted industrial visits to give them on-ground experience of the retail world. The trainers also worked hard on getting them placed as a result of which 19 out of 30 trainees have already been placed successfully.  

The Commanding Officer (CO) of the 41 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) was the chief guest for the event and congratulated all the trainees on successful completion of the program while felicitating them. He also delivered a small motivating talk to the audience which was composed of the first and already ongoing second batch students of the centre.

He emphasized upon the importance of learning new skills and how to implement them to one’s own betterment. He also congratulated the whole team of the retail program for achieving this feat, parents of the trainees who allowed and supported their wards towards such a program and team of REACHA foundation who were present there. He also told them about the various avenues available outside and motivated the trainees to explore them for better employment. 

All trainees have been awarded with certification from Retail Sector Skill Council (RSSC) of the National Skill Development Corporation of India (NSDCI) after the completion of the training programme. The event was attended by 60 students of first and second batch, staff of centre and team of REACHA foundation. The second batch of 30 trainees has already started from October 1.
