BSF battalions of Trahgam Kupwara and Handwara unfurl Tricolour at Army Goodwill school Trahgam Kupwara

Srinagar: The Tricolour unfurled at Goodwill Public School in Trahgam by Sanjay Sharma, commandant 172 Battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) and Ajay Kumar Mishra of 2IC 57 Battalion BSF Handwara on the auspicious occasion of 73rd Republic Day celebrations.

Families of martyrs, retired personnel and officials of local administration were especially invited to witness the event. An exhibition on modern weapons was organised at the school premises with a view to generate curiosity and interest of school children in the BSF and matters of national interest.

The school children also presented a cultural programme exhibiting their patriotic feelings and native culture. Sanjay Sharma, commandant during his address, appreciated the programme and congratulated the school administration and children for making the Republic Day celebration event a success. 

He announced that whenever there would be any opportunity for Bharat Darshan tour by BSF, then 172 battalion BSF will select the children from Goodwill Public School, Trahgam.

Sharma also expressed hope that such events and interactions would not only establish stronger bonds of mutual trust between the forces and civil society but would also induce deeper involvement of the local population in matters of national interest.
