Mumbai: Television actor Anuj Sachdeva, widely recognised for his roles in popular daily soaps, was allegedly assaulted inside his own housing society in Goregaon, Mumbai, in a disturbing incident that has triggered widespread anger on social media.
The actor shared a video late Sunday evening showing a violent confrontation with a fellow resident. According to Sachdeva, the altercation began after the man accused his pet dog of biting him. The situation quickly escalated, with the resident allegedly hurling verbal abuse before turning physically aggressive.
The video captures the man picking up a stick and striking Sachdeva repeatedly while continuing to threaten and abuse him. Amid the chaos, a woman can be heard calling for help as security guards rush to the spot and intervene, pulling the attacker away. Even as the incident was being recorded, the man allegedly issued threats to kill the actor.
Later in the video, Sachdeva appears visibly injured and bleeding, stating that he had been assaulted inside his society premises. In his social media post, the actor said he was sharing the footage as evidence to protect himself and his property, claiming that the dispute was triggered over parking issues and hostility towards his dog. He also identified the alleged attacker and appealed for urgent action.
The video quickly went viral, drawing strong reactions from fellow actors and public figures. Several celebrities expressed concern for Sachdeva’s safety, urged him to seek medical and legal help, and called for strict action against the accused.
