Border Security Force celebrated its 57th Raising Day at Line of Control at Karnah

Srinagar: The Border Security Force (BSF) will be celebrating its 57th Raising Day on December 1. As a precursor to this, a Barakhana, under the outreach programme of BSF, was organized at Tangdhar location of 27 Battalion BSF under Kupwara Sector on Tuesday.

Raja Babu Singh, IPS, Inspector General Kashmir Frontier (IG Kashmir Ftr, BSF) graced the occasion and attended the Barakhana at BSF Tangdhar location.

The IG Kashmir Ftr BSF spoke about the history of the Force, which started with 25 Battalion in 1965 and as on date it has grown to be 193 Battalion strong Force. He also mentioned that having his own Air Wing and Naval Wing makes it a multi-dimensional Force and is doing a wonderful job of protecting the Boundaries of the Country for its people along with the Indian Army on Line of Control (LoC) as well.

The programme was also attended by Brigadier S P Consul, 104 Infantry Brigade (Inf, Bde), Karna Sector, Subhash Chandra, DIG, Ftr HeadQuarter BSF, Amrendra Kumar Vidyarthi, DIG, SHQ BSF Kupwara, Dr Gulzar Ahamed Rather, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Karnah and other Force and civil dignitaries.

On the occasion, IG honoured the martyrs’ families and brave retirees of Border Security Force who had gathered here in large numbers. A cultural programme was also organized in collaboration with children and residents of Tangdhar and BSF troops to mark the Raising Day of the Force.
