Mumbai: The body of the 7 year old girl who went missing three days ago was found on Friday in a storm water drain at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). The body was of the same girl who went missing from the spot of incident of house collapse at Vakola in Santacruz East on August 4. On the same day of incident, police rescued a three year old girl while bodies of a woman and a girl were recovered by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team.
According to the information received by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), “a body of a seven-year-old girl was found by the Mumbai Fire Brigade on Friday from a nullah at BKC near Bharat Nagar police station. The girl was identified as Shreya (7) Milind Kakade who was missing since the day of the incident of the house collapse.

On August 4, a house collapsed in the nullah at Vakola in Santacruz East. Four members, a woman and three girls fell in the overflowing nullah which was at the backyard of the house. In this incident, two members identified as Rekha Milind Kakade (26) and Janvi Milind Kakade 1.6 years were found from the nullah. The girl’s body was recovered by the team of NDRF and also a girl identified as Shivanya Milind Kakde (3) was safely rescued by the police.
A similar incident occurred on Thursday, wherein a portion of a building collapsed in Mumbai’s Prabhadevi area a day after heavy rains and strong winds battered the city.
According to a Mumbai Fire Brigade statement, a portion of Jayprakash building located in Prabhadevi collapsed on Thursday. The incident took place around 12.30 pm. However, no casualties were reported in the incident.-By Vikas Nag
