Mumbai: A day after the controversial Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut expressed apprehension that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) may demolish her production house ‘Manikarnika Films ’ office situated in Pali Hill area of Bandra, the next day on Tuesday BMC slapped her office a notice under section 354 (A) under the Municipal Corporation Act to stop work and to produce the relevant documents as per the approvals by the BMC.

The notice pointed out many alterations in the bungalow, like a ‘toilet being converted into an office cabin’ and ‘new toilets being constructed alongside staircase’.

The notice also added that Kangana Ranaut has to give permission details to the BMC within 24 hours. If she defies the notice, the BMC officials could go ahead and demolish Kangana Ranaut’s office, officials said.

She has to produce the relevant documents which will prove that the structure or the addition or the alteration of the ongoing work or recently completed is as per the plans as per the approvals by the BMC. If she fails to do so, then appropriate steps will be initiated”, said Vinayak Vispute, Assistant Commissioner, H West ward of the BMC.

Meanwhile, the issue, Kangana Ranaut tweeted, “Because of the criticism that @mybmc received from my friends on social media, they didn’t come with a bulldozer today instead stuck a notice to stop leakage work that is going on in the office, friends I may have risked a lot but I find immense love and support from you all.”

On Monday, Kangana Ranaut shared videos of BMC officials at her office premises in Mumbai and said the team may demolish the property. Stating that she has done nothing illegal on her property, Kangana Ranaut said BMC should show the illegal construction with a notice.
