New Delhi: BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Friday emphasized that the name of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh should not be linked to any particular political party. Sirsa stated that Singh’s legacy transcended party lines and was always focused on the betterment and progress of the nation, rather than political affiliation.
“All the party leaders see Manmohan Singh beyond any party. He was not bound to any party and he used to think about the progress of the country. He raised the country out of economic crisis and served as the Prime Minister for 10 years. So his name should not be linked to any party,” Sirsa remarked, highlighting the former Prime Minister’s dedication to national development.
Sirsa’s statement came after a day of somber remembrance for Dr. Singh, who was widely respected for his leadership and economic policies. BJP leader Preneet Kaur also shared her thoughts, recalling Singh as a “gentle and polite human being.” Kaur, who had the privilege of working with Singh, described his passing as “a huge loss for the whole nation.” She added, “I came today to pay my respects to a great personality.”
Earlier in the day, Dr. Singh’s family organized a ‘Bhog’ of the ‘Akhand Path’ in memory of the former Prime Minister at his residence. The occasion was attended by prominent leaders, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and the party’s parliamentary party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, who were present to pay their respects to Singh’s lasting legacy.
