New Delhi: BJP MP and Bollywood actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut launched a sharp attack on the opposition parties during a press interaction on Wednesday, accusing them of failing to uphold their constitutional responsibilities and behaving in a manner that undermines the spirit of democracy.
Commenting on recent disruptions in Parliament, Ranaut said, “An opposition also has several responsibilities, but the way they conduct themselves is there for the whole country to see. The nation is witnessing how they strangle democracy from within, how they suppress the Constitution. They shout and scream so much…”
Her remarks come amid ongoing uproar in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, where opposition MPs have repeatedly clashed with the government over a range of issues including electoral reforms, inflation, and institutional independence. The ruling BJP has accused the opposition of stalling legislative business, while the opposition alleges government high-handedness and suppression of dissent.
