The political battle over Bihar’s law and order situation has escalated, with Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh) slamming Tejashwi Yadav for his criticism of the Nitish Kumar-led government. Singh dismissed Yadav’s allegations, urging him to reflect on the crime-ridden era of his parents, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi.

In response to Tejashwi Yadav’s claims that Bihar is witnessing a surge in crime, Singh pointed to the 1990s, when kidnappings for ransom were rampant. “Tejashwi lacks political maturity. Criticizing the government on paper won’t make him Chief Minister. He should first define what crime is—normal incidents cannot be labeled as crime. During his parents’ rule, Bihar was infamous for kidnappings. Kidnapping was an industry back then,” Singh stated.

Tejashwi vs. Nitish: ‘Rakshasa Raj’ vs. ‘Pragati Yatra’

Tejashwi Yadav had earlier launched a social media attack on CM Nitish Kumar, alleging a significant breakdown in law and order, citing 137 criminal incidents since January 2025, and branding the administration as “Rakshasa Raj” (demonic rule).

He also targeted Nitish Kumar’s Pragati Yatra, calling it a misuse of taxpayers’ money. In response, Singh defended the initiative, stating that Nitish Kumar is personally reviewing and inaugurating development projects across Bihar.

“Tejashwi Yadav does not understand the meaning of progress. He is inexperienced and disconnected from governance. Under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, Bihar has seen real development since 2005,” Singh asserted, reinforcing the JD(U)-BJP alliance’s narrative that Bihar was in decline under RJD rule.

Lalan Singh’s Attack on Congress Over Rekha Gupta

In a separate jibe, Lalan Singh also criticized Congress for attacking Delhi’s newly appointed CM Rekha Gupta, accusing the party of favoring only a particular family’s women leaders.
