Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa met his Maharashtra counterpart Devendra Fadnavis at the latter’s residence ‘Varsha’ here, to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha.
An official from the chief minister’s office said Karnataka Deputy chief minister C N Ashwathnarayan and the state’s Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai, along with their Maharashtra counterparts Girish Mahajan and Chandrashekhar Bawankule were present.
“Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and Karnataka CM Yediyurappa have decided to set up a high level committee for better dam management to avoid flood situation.
It was also decided to jointly oppose Andhra Pradesh’s application for re-distribution of water against Krishna water tribunal order in view of Andhra and Telangana division,” the CMO official said.
He added that both the states took a firm stand that Andhra and Telangana should take water from their allotted share.
BJP MLC Prasad Lad, a close aide of Fadnavis, had received Yediyurappa at the Mumbai airport. After landing, the Karnataka CM visited the Siddhivinayak temple to seek blessings of Lord Ganesha. After that, he visited Varsha, to take darshan of the elephant God and met Fadnavis over lunch.
