Purnia: Tragedy struck Bihar’s Purnia district on Friday when at least four people were killed and several others injured after being hit by the Vande Bharat Express. The injured have been rushed to the GMC hospital for treatment, while the Railway Police have taken the bodies into custody and launched an investigation.

The accident occurred around 5:00 am near the town while the Vande Bharat train, running from Jogbani to Pataliputra, was passing through. Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact cause of the incident, leaving open the possibility of either negligence at a railway crossing or pedestrians ignoring safety rules and attempting to cross the tracks in the path of the high-speed train.
